Longleat Forestry supply a range of wood products from our own sustainably managed forest. Come by our forest shop in person or order over the phone and have your order safely delivered to your chosen address.

Kiln dried firewood
We are proud to be the only supplier in Wiltshire that allows you to choose your own logs at your leisure.
We understand that each fireplace and wood burner is unique, so our pick your own option enables you to get the right logs for you. It takes a while to understand your fire and being able to select different logs gives you the best possible result. You can ask our experts to walk you through all the options for your specific needs, and give advice on how to make the best fire.
All the firewood is harvested from the Longleat Estate. Longleat Forest is managed on a sequential continuous cover forestry basis, using parent trees to set seed for young trees thus providing forest continuity. We have won silvicultural awards for this practice over the years, and in some cases, set the model for other woodlands in the UK to follow.
After the wood is felled, it goes into our wood-fired kiln. This reduces its moisture content, making our Woodsure Accredited kiln-dried logs 'ready to burn'.

Woodchip
Our softwood woodchip is made from specifically graded softwood from our sustainable forest. All woodchip is screened to 50mm and contains no leaves or weeds.
We use a lot of woodchip around the Longleat attractions as it is of a play area grade specification. It is also suitable once dried for our gorilla biomass boiler and our lions enjoy it as a bedding.
Many of our customers use this in the garden as a landscape woodchip for around trees and paths as a weed suppressant.
Woodchip is available for both collection and home delivery. There is no minimum weight for pick your own woodchip. The minimum weight for home delivery is 1 tonne.

Important information
- Delivery charges depend on the distance from Longleat and range from £19.50 - £34.50 per tonne.
- You will be charged according to your delivery address when you order.
- Longleat Forestry deliver Monday to Friday and have 4 delivery slots per day from 8am - 4pm.
- We do not deliver on weekends or certain bank holidays.
- Longleat Forestry delivers to a 16 mile radius of the shop.
- Should you want us to phone prior to your delivery or if you have any specific delivery requests, please indicate when you order.
- To help us select the right size delivery truck do let us know if the destination is difficult to get to.

Kiln-dried firewood can be ordered over the phone for home delivery, or collected in person from the Longleat Forestry site.
We recommend buying kiln-dried logs as and when you need them.
You can pop by at any time during our opening times:
- Monday to Friday: 7.30am – 4.15pm
- Saturdays and Sundays: 7.30am – 12.30pm (from Sept to Feb)
We are open on most Bank holidays (7.30am – 4.15pm).
We are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, 27 December and New Year's Day.
Last entry to the yard for Pick Your Own logs is 4.00pm.

Firewood is a low carbon alternative to fossil fuels, and because the wood is locally produced we have a low carbon footprint at source.
With our standard product 1 tonne of logs is about 3.25 cubic metres/2.5 builders bags. All of our wood is weighed over a calibrated weigh bridge and sold in metric tonnes/1000kg.
