Business Studies Student Conference 2026
KS4 & KS5
Longleat has been operating in the leisure and tourism industry for over 75 years and is therefore an ideal place to bring business theory to life with genuine examples and case studies.
Longleat House opened to the public on a fully commercial basis in 1949 and was the first stately home to do so. Following this, in 1966, the Thynn family opened the first safari park outside of Africa known then as 'The Lions of Longleat'.
Since then, Longleat has grown with new animal species and attractions. Recent projects include an African painted dog exhibit and ‘Tiny Titans’ which focuses on close up encounters with bugs and other small creatures. Over the years an excellent events calendar has been built up that includes Icons of the Sky, our hot air balloon extravaganza and the UK’s original and biggest lantern festival, The Festival of Light, now in its 11th year.
Underlying our operation is the same core challenges that face all businesses. We have designed this conference to share with business studies students real life examples of the theory they study.
