The Festival of Light
We’re delighted you’ve joined us for an adventure full of character as The Festival of Light presents British Icons with Wallace & Gromit and friends!
Here are some frequently asked questions to help you plan your visit during the event:
Yes. We aim to make The Festival of Light welcoming and accessible for everyone. The event routes, facilities and attractions have been designed with accessibility in mind, and our Guest Services Team are available throughout your visit to assist if needed.
The Lantern Trail
Yes. The trail is fully accessible and takes you across concrete paths and matted areas. There are occasional ramps and some diversion routes to help avoid confined spaces and certain scenes.
This is a popular event, so some areas may become busy. From 3:30pm, one-way systems are in place to help manage the flow of visitors, and marshals will be on hand throughout the evening to provide assistance.
The trail is approximately 2.5km long and features flashing lights, sound effects, and illuminated displays that come to life after dark.
Yes. The Longhouse is fully accessible. Please note that it can become crowded and noisy at times.
The Park closes at 7:30pm. Please note that animal areas and other attractions in Main Square may close earlier, depending on daylight hours.
Yes. Larger print versions of the Safari and Main Park maps are available from Guest Services upon request.
A hearing loop is available on the Safari Bus.
Yes. We operate a Queue Assist scheme. Please speak to Guest Services for more details.
Yes. Sensory bags are available to hire, containing ear defenders and fidget toys. A refundable deposit applies. These can be collected from Guest Services.
Signs are positioned around the park to highlight crowded spaces, warm areas, and other key accessibility information.
The area is mostly accessible, although please be aware there is a small incline and slightly uneven ground.
Essential Companion tickets are available free if the person you are accompanying has either an Access Card or a Longleat Digital Access Pass with a +1 symbol.

Designated disabled parking areas are available in Lime Tree Car Park and Silver Birch Car Park. These areas will be clearly signposted on the day of your visit.
- Accessible toilets are provided at the entrance to the Safari Drive-Through, in the Safari Drive-Through (close to the Watering Hole at African Village), off the Main Square near The Sweet Shop, close to the Jungle Cruise, and in The Chameleon Tree Restaurant and Coffee House.
- Additional toilet facilities, including accessible options, will be available for the event. Location details will be provided on the day of your visit.
- Changing facilities with adjustable changing bench and hoist are available in the main accessible toilets off the Main Square near The Sweet Shop.
- Please note that our accessible toilets can only be accessed with a radar key. You are welcome to bring your own radar key or you can request one from Guest Services in Main Square.
Manual wheelchairs and mobility scooters are now available for hire (subject to availability)
As we have a limited amount available, we would strongly advise you contact us before visiting and reserving your wheelchair or scooter. You can do this by emailing [email protected] or contact us on 01985 844400.
Service dogs are welcome everywhere at Longleat excluding the Safari Park, Jungle Kingdom, Jungle Cruise, Monkey Temple and Animal Adventure. Please ensure you use poop scoops.
Visitors are not permitted to bring other domestic animals onto the Longleat Estate.
