Pack pride

Our African wild dogs were introduced to Longleat in 2024. Born from the same litter, these charismatic canines are part of the European Endangered Species Programme. You can watch their family bond in action in their purpose-built African Village enclosure.

Chorus of the pack

For African wild dogs in the wild, each day begins with a greeting ceremony. Sounding like a flock of songbirds, the dogs fill the morning air with excited chirps and twitters as the pack gears up for the first hunt of the day.

Did you know?

No two African wild dogs look alike—their colourful patchwork coats are as unique as human fingerprints.
