Longleat Railway whistles sound for Remembrance Sunday

This year marks a poignant milestone — the 80th anniversary of VE Day, a landmark in our shared history. In May, we reflected on Longleat’s wartime legacy by sharing a newly discovered letter from our archives, recalling how the estate joined the nation in celebration.

More recently, our Icons of the Sky event paid tribute in the skies above the estate, with RAF flights and historic aircraft, including the Supermarine Spitfire, woven into the spectacle.

Now, as Remembrance Sunday approaches, we’ll pause together on Sunday 9 November, with our trains sounding their whistles at 11:00am and again at 11:02am to mark a two-minute silence. We warmly invite visitors and team members to join this quiet moment of reflection.
