Longleat Forestry awarded Grown in Britain certification
29 June 2026
Longleat Forestry has been recognised for its long-term stewardship of one of the UK’s most significant historic estates.
It has received Grown in Britain woodland and forest certificate which recognises responsible woodland and forest management and follows a robust audit of the supply chain and processes implemented by the Wiltshire team.

Justin Gorbold, Forestry consultant, said: “We are delighted to be a Grown in Britain certificate holder.
“We manage an extensive and diverse woodland estate – over 9000 acres, where active forestry supports biodiversity, heritage landscapes, and the supply of high‑quality, home‑grown timber.
“Our woodland management focuses on long‑term resilience, habitat enhancement, and responsible use of natural resources, ensuring that environmental, economic, and social benefits are delivered side by side.
“Through active management practices, timber harvested from our woodlands is supplied into British markets with full traceability. Achieving Grown in Britain certification provides independent assurance that this timber is legally harvested, sustainably managed, and grown in the UK.
“By joining the Grown in Britain community, we are demonstrating how large historic estates can play a leading role in supporting the future of British forestry. We are really pleased to demonstrate that productive woodland management can strengthen local supply chains, support rural skills, and contribute to the wider use of renewable, low‑carbon materials.”
Dougal Driver, CEO of Grown in Britain, said: "We are delighted to welcome Longleat Forestry to the growing number of Grown in Britain certificate holders. By working together, we have a fantastic chance to raise awareness, promote local jobs, support and enhance the British landscape and its biodiversity.”
