Cellars Restaurant and Self Service

Located in the old vaults of Longleat House, the recently refurbished Cellars Restaurant is accessed through either the house, the Victorian Kitchens or from the garden.

It is divided into two parts: a counter service restaurant offering a wide selection of delicious home made hot and cold foods and a Self Service section ideal for those in a hurry to see more of Longleat.

Cellars Restaurant

In the Cellars you will find hot home made dishes including such favourites as steak pie, sausages and mash with onion gravy, cottage pie, vegetarian quiche and lasagne. For the smaller appetite, why not try our freshly made soups or baked potatoes with a variety of fillings and salads? These are available from 12 noon

Also on offer are sandwiches and baguettes prepared in local daily-baked bread, hot paninis with a variety of fillings and our delicious home baked cakes, biscuits and flapjacks. The famous Longleat Cream Tea with home baked scones and organic clotted cream is a speciality in the Cellars - and is irresistible! All these are available all day.

Children are especially welcome and they can choose from either our special Kid’s Box or a half price portion of the main hot dish.

There are wide variety of hot and cold drinks with wine and beer also available with a cooked meal.

Specialist needs

  • Baby changing facilities, food warming, bottle warming and high chairs
  • Children are catered for with Kid’s lunch boxes or a half-price portion of the hot dish
  • Wheelchair access is available via Victorian Kitchens (at rear of Longleat House)

Self Service

The Self Service section of the Cellars is open during state school holidays, at weekends and on Bank Holidays during the main Longleat season. It provides a selection of good wholesome foods for those with less time to spare.

Choose from pre-packed sandwiches and baguettes, cakes and biscuits and hot and cold drinks to eat there or take out. Why not make your own picnic and enjoy the grounds?

Group/Party Booking

The Cellars Restaurant is also available out of season on some evenings and for Christmas parties, meetings, demonstrations and other events (maximum numbers 100 – dependent on the type of event).
