Although Longleat Safari Park doesn’t officially open its doors until next month there’s a chance to see what’s been going on when the new series of BBC Animal Park is broadcast this January.
The latest episodes of this behind the scenes documentary based from Longleat have been given a prime time slot on BBC TWO.
The new hour-long programmes, hosted by Kate Humble and Ben Fogle, will be going out at 6pm daily, Monday to Friday, from Monday, January 7th.
This will be the highly popular series’ eighth year and the new shows will feature everything from the launch of two new Safari Boats, a check-up on a pregnant giraffe to a tour of Lord Bath’s legendary wardrobe and a massive operation to re-roof Longleat House.
Longleat’s Jo Sparrow said: “We’re absolutely delighted that Animal Park will be back on our screens. The programme is hugely popular both at home and abroad and we’re confident that this new series will tantalise the viewers once more!
“It’s a chance for our staff to really show what goes on behind the scenes from the day-to-day mucking out of 40 or so species in the Safari Park to the introduction of three new tigers!
“The series has gone from strength to strength and we’re certain there will be plenty of events to enjoy and new characters to meet in the forthcoming weeks,” she added.
Animal Park has been running since 2000 and is now in its eighth season with well over a hundred episodes having been broadcast.
