Longleat Safari Park keepers are going head to head this Friday as they join the BBC2 ‘Ready Steady Cook’ team to whip up some culinary delights.
Ian Turner, Deputy Head Warden of the Safari Park and Darren Beasley, Head of Pets Corner have both sprung to fame in the last few years on the BBC series ‘Animal Park’ which is based from Longleat. It will be the first time however that the general public will have seen them chopping up something more exotic than lettuces, carrots and other animal treats.
Darren Beasley said “I am ashamed to admit that I had never experienced real garlic before as we rarely feed it to our animals and if we do, it comes out of a pot!
“Thanks to Ainsley however, I am now fully converse with the do’s and don’ts of garlic and have even been experimenting with its use at home!”
The programme, which is being aired this Friday 30th March at 4.30pm on BBC2,
will see these two familiar Longleat faces being challenged with the preparation and cooking of some serious culinary delights - it will be interesting to see how much is carried into their daily lives at Longleat - watch out giraffes you never know when fruit kebabs might be on the menu?!
It would be unfair to give the game away as to who won – is it the red tomato or the green pepper – Longleat can release however that the money went to the Westbury Arthritis Self Help Group who are said to be absolutely delighted.
