Learning & Development Officer

The Longleat Group is going through substantial growth and change and this is an exciting time to join as you will be influential in developing the staff in order to meet our ambitious growth.
The Learning and Development Officer will plan, design and deliver training programmes to improve business performance through increasing the competencies of all staff. You will work closely with the HR Director, HR Manager and functional Directors and other stakeholders to ensure the development and delivery of a comprehensive training strategy aimed at staff at all levels across  the business , incorporating Leisure, Retail, Hotels.

The role will include the full L&D cycle, induction, TNA, design, delivery, appraisals, talent management, succession planning, and you will be able to select the correct approach to meet company needs, always being mindful of the department’s budget.
Your experience should include a high level of commercial awareness with the ability to give confident and persuasive presentations with credibility and authority, previous experience  in a customer facing, commercial organisation preferably in hospitality or service industry with CIPD or other recognised L&D qualification a prerequisite.

Seasonal Vacancies

 

Seasonal Animal Warden

Longleat Safari Park is the UK’s No 1 safari and adventure park and, at present, we are undergoing redevelopment.  As part of this development process the walk around exhibit area of the park is going through some exciting changes. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates that can assist in developing and delivering high standards of animal care within this area of the park. The species that are currently within this section range from various large and small mammals, reptiles and invertebrates.
The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of animal husbandry and a strong team mentality to achieve the team’s objectives. Previous experience of working with exotic species would be advantageous but not essential.
This is a fixed term seasonal position until 4th November 2013.

Seasonal Retail Assistants

We are looking for applicants for our many retail outlets dotted around the park. You will be required to serve visitors at till points, replenish stock levels and deliver excellent customer service. Previous experience would be preferable although full training will be given to the right candidate.

We have full time fixed term and casual contracts available with hours driven by business needs – weekend and bank holiday working essential

Food & Beverage Unit Leader

We have a great opportunity for a Food & Beverage enthusiast to get stuck in to their next challenge supporting the Food & Beverage operation. We are recruiting unit leaders for a number of food outlets around the park to support the management team in achieving targets including revenue, guest experience and food safety.

Supporting your assistant manager you will work on the ground managing the daily operation of the unit and ensuring your team can deliver a first class service to all our guests.

This position is on a fixed term contract working 5 days out of 7 based on 45 hours a week. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business and shifts will include weekends, early evenings and bank holidays.

Receptionist

We are currently looking for an experienced hotel receptionist to join our front of house team. The role of Receptionist requires good customer service skills, the ability to interact with guests, good computer skills and the willingness to go that extra mile!

You would be required to ensure the day to day operation of the front desk is undertaken and the guests experience is at the highest quality. To deal with the payment of guest bills on a daily basis and to ensure all queries and requests are dealt with satisfactorily. To undertake general administration as requested by the front of house manager. Experience using a hotel booking system preferable but full training will be given to the right candidate.

You will be required to work shifts 5 days out of 7 with weekend and bank holiday working due to the nature of the business.

Waiting Staff

We are currently seeking experienced waiting staff for our Mulberry restaurant which offers two dining experiences, either our A La Carte menu for those wishing to experience our imaginative and creative dishes or relax in the Mulberry conservatory with our more informal All Day Dining Menu.  As an experienced waiter you would ensure that guests are provided with drinks and food when requested and offered these when appropriate in an effort to maximise sales. To ensure the Restaurant service is at a quality at all times whilst preserving a level of guest privacy. To complete all cleaning and preparation to ensure a smooth service at all times.

This position will be on a casual agreement working any days/hours required and as agreed by the management.
